These wall pieces are created by Tom & Nancy Giusti using the ancient Japanese methoc of Raku. Each piece is removed from the kiln when it reaches a temperature of 1400 degrees F. & immediately plunged into a pit of combustible material such as sawdust or shredded paper. The resulting smoke & flames interact with the glaze creating simmering metallic colors which enhance the gracefully drawn wildlife figures & plant impressions.
Please note: raku is for indoor use only.
Each piece is somewhat unique in coloring variations; we'd be happy to send you digital images of current inventory to assist in your selection(s).
